RJ45 Cable Economiser

If you've got spare ports on your patch panel, but not enough wall sockets then try this! This splitter adapter will allow you to use two ethernet devices in one spare RJ45 wall socket female port, by splitting this port into 2. Attach either two computers or any other networkable hardware, to your existing Cat5e structured cabling system, using a Cat5e UTP cable economiser. This will allow 2 ports to be created on a to a single 8-core (4-pair) Cat5e UTP faceplate. Then using one at the other end to split the patch panel port. How it works: The Cat5e Economiser, used in pairs (one at at each end of a cable run), allows 4 pair cable to be divided in two separate twisted pair data signal sockets. Cat5e only utilises 2 of the four pairs of wires (wires 1,2,3,6) inside the cable. These splitters allow data from one connection to be sent down the usual wires 1,2,3,6 and the data from the second connection to be sent down the other cables (wires 4,5,7,8). By plugging one economiser direct into a wall outlet and another into a patch panel at the other end; one cable run of 4 twisted pair can be used to transmit 2 sets of data signals. Features: Superior Quality Cat5e Connectivity: 1 x RJ45 Male to 2 x RJ45 Female Typically you would use one in the wall socket, one in the patch panel These can be used with both straight cable and crossover cable connections When the signal reaches the other end, it must be split again back into 2 separate cables. This is why they are used in pairs Points to note: These MUST be used in pairs. These are intended for data transmission and not for voice. They are not suitable for telephones or for sharing a broadband connection with a modem/router. MUST be used with patch panels & faceplates only. 12 month warranty.
